Job Description
FIELD ENGINEER
ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental civil and geotechnical construction services. We directly selfperform environmental remediation and geotechnical construction work using inhouse personnel and equipment resources. ENTACTs roster is comprised of seasoned project managers field engineers technical and regulatory professionals certified safety professionals certified quality control managers equipment operators field mechanics and technicians with diverse capabilities and experience. Established in 1991 ENTACT has been consistently named to ENRs Top 200 Environmental Firms has been the recipient of numerous National Safety Council awards and has successfully and safely completed over 3000 projects. ENTACT has numerous regional offices and project sites across the United States. We are well positioned to serve our clients nationwide.
ENTACT is actively seeking a Field Engineer in the environmental remediation and geotechnical construction industry. Candidates must be open to sustained projectbased travel within the US at least 80 of the time. Project locations will vary depending on the assignment. Candidates can reside anywhere within the US. ENTACT offers per diem/living allowance and paid monthly trips home.
Position Summary: The position of Field Engineer will work closely with all members of the management and health and safety team. This position includes quality control surveying KPI tracking and other responsibilities related to the proper and timely of ENTACT projects. Must be selfmotivated to meet deadlines communicate effectively in a teamwork setting and be able to adapt role/responsibilities in a fastpaced everchanging environment. Associates must be open to periods of sustained projectbased travel. Must have a valid drivers license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.
Work Environment:
The Field Engineer completes their work in varying environments from a typical office setting to a construction/field setting.

Skills/Experience Required:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook Excel Word and Teams.
- Team players with the ability to meet deadlines goals and objectives.
- Design planning and communication skills that promote safe work and safe work products.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Good problem solving/decision making skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to take the initiative.
- Strong organization time management and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic.
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering construction management or related field.
- HAZWOPER 40 hr. training is highly preferred but not required.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center or AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.
- Must have a valid drivers license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.
Physical Demands/Visual Requirements:
Physical visual and situational activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include but are not limited to:
- Performing physical activities that may require moving ones whole body such as climbing lifting carrying pulling pushing reaching handling balancing walking stooping where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs such as in the physical handling of materials or tools or operation of tools and equipment.
- Using ones own hands and arms in handling positioning installing and moving materials or manipulating things.
- Standing walking riding sitting fingering feeling talking hearing acuitynear hand to eye coordination.
- Match or detect differences between colors including shades of color and brightness.
- See objects or movement of objects to ones side when the eyes are focused forward.
- Hear the direction from which a sound originated.
- Detect distance of objects and depth perception.
- Sense of smell.
- The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
- The ability to bend stretch twist or reach out with the body arms and/or legs.
- The ability to use ones abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time with giving out or fatiguing.
- The ability to quickly make coordinated movement of one hand a hand together with its arm or two hands to grasp manipulate operate or assemble objects.
- The ability to coordinate the movement of the arms legs and torso together in activities where the whole body is in motion.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
- The ability to combine separate pieces of information specific answers to problems to form general conclusions. Develop a logical explanation for why an event occurs.
- Frequent facetoface interaction with others. Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate.
- Most work is performed while standing or walking outdoors.
- Must be capable of working under physical stress conditions such as heat stress and cold stress during various weather conditions and potentially long workdays.
- Possibility of use of respiratory equipment (i.e. halfface fullface SCBA etc.
- Heat extremes when wearing certain types of PPE. Wear Level C and D PPE including cotton Tyvek chemical protective coveralls eye and face protection hand protection etc. Potential for Level A and B PPE exists.
- Working on elevations such as scaffolding bridges buildings etc.
- Expected to lift objects weighing 1 to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Donning of varying types of personal protective equipment (PPE) as project requirements and conditions warrant. Minimum PPE includes steel toe safety boots hard hat safety glasses ear plugs and reflective safety vest.
- Working in loud or noisy environments.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:
Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include:
- Outside construction site onsite office space.
- The terrain is rugged and may be difficult to navigate.
- Dusty and windy atmospheres.
- Confined spaces.
- Hot Environments.
- Noisy work environments.
- Contaminated atmospheres (i.e. fumes vapor lead dust H2S etc..
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be worn including but not limited to hard hat hearing protection such as ear plugs or muffs eye protection such as safety glasses goggles face shield etc. welders helmet safety vest various types of gloves including leather Nitrile latex etc. steel toe boots and various respiratory protection such as dust masks half face and full face respirators SCBAs APRs etc. may be required depending on site conditions. Protective coveralls include cotton Tyvek fire ant chemical protective etc.
