Responsibilities
Job Description
Eastman Chemical Company in Martinsville VA has an opening for Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance. This position is responsible for maintaining process and support equipment.
Must be highly motivated to work safely and independently. Responsibilities will be but not limited to performing preventive and predictive maintenance troubleshooting and repair of Electrical Mechanical and Control Systems.
Required Skills
- Must Demonstrate Positive Safety Habits with a Good Safety and Attendance Record.
- Must have a Strong Aptitude for Troubleshooting and Repair of Mechanical and Electrical Failures of Process Equipment.
- Ability to actively participate in hazard reviews management of change reviews and process safety reviews.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
Preferred Skills: Any Combination of the Skills Listed Below May be Considered for this Position.
- Mechanical Skills to Include Experience in Bearing Replacement Centrifugal and Pneumatic Pump Rebuilds Roller Alignments Gearbox Rebuilds and Replacement Pneumatic and Hydraulic Schematic Reading.
- Electrical Skills to Include Experience in Schematic Reading Industrial Motor Controls Instrumentation and Drive Systems. PLC and HMI Experience is a plus
- Welding certifications are a plus
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in Welding orIndustrial Electronics (or equivalent) is a plus OR completed a 4 year state certified apprenticeship program in related field OR have minimum of 6 years of applicable industrial electrical and/or mechanical experience preferred
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Software (Excel Word Power Point)
- Knowledge of Safety Integrity Level Instrumentation is a plus
- Experience using SAP Maintenance software is a plus
- Experience in web handling is a plus
- Must be willing to work overtime on an as needed basis
- Position is on a rotating shift.
