Scope:
Shipping/Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound freight and materials transactions coordinating export and domestic shipments and crossdocking activities. Includes planning and managing shipping schedules to meet branch and customer delivery requirements as well as coordinating warehouse operations (pick pack operate equipment etc. as required.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise shipping and receiving operators and ensuring continuity and communications between 2nd and 3rd shifts
2. Ensure shipping and receiving team are following SOPs for incoming and outgoing shipments and documenting it. Including training new operators to follow proper procedures and verify their work.
3. Coordinates and oversees the tactical daytoday shipping relationships.
4. Schedule inbound and outbound freight and trailers to comply with cross dock operations and capacities.
5. Ensure accuracy of all export parts picked packed and shipped to customers and all proper documents required by U.S. Customs are shipped with parts and proper classifications are applied for parts shipped to meet all regulatory requirements
6. Plans and manages shipping schedules to meet branch and customer delivery requirements.
7. Ensure accuracy of all shipping and receiving (B.O.L. documents.
8. Communication with security to provide direction and door assignments to carriers.
9. Oversee yard operations for safety cleanliness and efficiency.
10. Oversees fork truck fleet including training delegating truck to team members developing and implementing a maintenance plan ensure all trucks are in working order.
11. Maintains shop floor order and receive shop floor supplies.
12. Perform weekly/monthly lane audits. Research and resolve discrepancies related to inventory.
13. Assists Customer Care Group in handling warehouse related issues and expedites.
14. Performs all required functions such as receipt of material selecting orders for shipment freight routing and onestep of shipments.
15. Interfaces with Management manufacturing personnel purchasing department customer care and branches on material status and production planning issues.
16. Maintain legible and accurate records and metrics as required; identifying improvement plans to support departmental goals.
17. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and report and document unsafe conditions that cannot be selfcorrected
18. Promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Ensure all employees are aware of all safety rules and regulations. Ensure all employees adhere to the mandated PPE policies.
19. Adhere to and promote the Victaulic Leadership Values.
20. Ensure all employees adhere to the company established code of ethics.
21. Participate in and use Quality Improvement Process in resolving problems to improve work processes.
22. Evening and weekend communication with team members or suppliers as required.
Qualifications:(Education Experience Personal Attributes)
1. Twoyear associate degree four year college degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse and / or Branch operations.
3. AS400 BPCS experience helpful.
4. Selfmotivated.
5. Experience in Lean manufacturing concepts and practices.
6. Ability to perform multiple tasks.
7. Willing to be flexible in work schedule.
