40Summary:
The Physical Therapist will have the education knowledge and skill to provide inpatient services focusing on functional skills to enhance development restore function and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions illness and injury. Evaluation treatment and home programming are provided for children with burns and wounds orthopedic injuries brain injuries and neurological impairments hematology and oncology disorders musculoskeletal injuries or disorders neuromuscular disorders gross motor delays and cardiopulmonary disorders. Also includes evaluations for wheelchairs walkers and other assistive devices. The PT will provide therapy services for chronically ill patients admitted to hospital for lengthy stays as well as see additional outpatients for burn and wound care. The position shall include patient and caregiver education and consultation to other medical professionals clinics and agencies both within Cook Childrens Health Care System and within the community. Documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services shall follow department and system policies.
Qualifications:
Masters Degree required
Pediatric and/or Acute Care Experience Preferred
Flexible Hours/shifts to accommodate before and after school hours
BLS within 30 days of employment required
State license for physical therapy or eligible for licensure
