Job Description
There is a 4:4 teaching load of four credit hour classes with reduced Scholarship and University Service expectations relative to other positions with a 3:3 teaching load. Salary is dependent on qualifications. Fields are open with a preference for an Economic Generalist with an interest in teaching Environmental Economics Labor Economics Experimental Economics or Health Economics. This position will be held in the Department of Economics within the Phillips School of Business. High Point University is a private liberal arts institution with growing undergraduate and graduate student enrollment and expanding academic programs.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in microeconomics macroeconomics and economics elective courses. Collaboration with faculty on curriculum and program development service to the school and university and scholarly research are expected.The Phillips School of Business embraces a broad range of theoretical and methodological perspectives values collaborative research and encourages faculty to work across divisions and specializations.
