WHAT YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Maintenance Lead will assist in supervising a team of highly skilled technicians responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of plant equipment. This will consist of supervising mechanics/technicians during equipment down time providing knowledge during corrective maintenance procedures and devising procedures and policy to optimize technicians and plant equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible of ensuring that all food safety and quality practices are adhered to.

  • May be required to supervise shift in the absence of manager/lead.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and correct malfunctions.
  • Analyze mechanical and or operational problems on assigned equipment make necessary repairs.
  • Supervise maintenance repairs equipment installations and help prioritize work as needed with employees assigned to by manager.
  • Isolate problems and applying solutions that minimize downtime and maximize production in safe timely manner.
  • Work with engineers and management to make modifications and or recommendations followed up with testing for system performance and stability.
  • May require some travel if the business need requires.
  • Address issues in a timely manner understand how to prioritize multiple issues that may arise.
  • Assist in reducing maintenance costs by walking the facility frequently to find deficiencies.
  • First point of contact for production issues.


WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED; or 5 years of experience in related field; or a combination of both experience and education
  • To ensure a safe and productive workplace candidates for this position must demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety. Any history of incidents including recent convictions for driving under the influence (DUI) within the past two years will be evaluated on a casebycase basis to determine potential impact on the candidates ability to safely perform the essential duties of the job.
  • This policy reflects the companys focus on maintaining a secure environment for employees and equipment operations
  • Ability to read write and speak English with enough proficiency to execute the duties of this position and adequately interact with crossdepartmental staff effectively.
  • Ability to travel and maintain a flexible schedule often including evening weekend and holidays when business needs arise.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and think independently.
  • Knowledge of computer applications (such as Microsoft Office Excel Word etc

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sufficient mechanical skills necessary to complete the functions of this position effectively and the ability to perform and understand machinery tools and equipment.
  • Able to read and follow wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery and correct malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of using a Multimeter and other test equipment
  • Ability to design and test system prototypes.
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Ability to fabricate special tools when needed to make prompt repairs.
  • Must enforce a good culture with teams based on company principles.
  • Ability to ensure the company is in compliance with safety procedures and regulations set by the company.
  • Ability to efficiently run and maintain ammonia/glycol systems.
  • proficiency in machining tools lathe mill ect.
  • Ability to repair worn shafts rolls for proper bearing fits.
  • Ability to use hand tools and train employees proper usage.
  • Able to read understand manuals to make necessary repairs.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (AA/AAS) and/or Certificate of Training completed from an accredited school or training program
  • Previous experience in a fast paced high volume food production/manufacturing facility.
  • Prior working knowledge of OSHA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) FDA USDA and EPA regulations
  • Two years of experience with electrical components previous electronics training or prior experience in related field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent standing walking sitting handling climbing
  • Ability to ascend and descent ramps steps ladders stairs using threepoint contact
  • Material exposuremoving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to fumes airborne particles and vibrations
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
  • Environment exposure hot/humid conditions 95 or above).
  • Environmental exposure cold/wet conditions 40 or below)

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

  • 2nd Shift 4pm5pm; Rotating Shifts (these changes are based on production needs) overtime and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs.
  • The lead role will primarily be a second shift position during the production season and a day shift roll at the conclusion of the season for the off season.
