Job Description

- BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to manage the cases of the shelter residents requiring assistance of The Salvation Army by performing the following duties:
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain a safe and secure environment with an emphasis on nonviolent communication and intervention.
- Secure shelter guests personal property at intake and at various times throughout the day in designated storage areas
- Direct shelter guests in cleaning and caring for the shelter areas for sleeping
- Assisting with shelter guest intakes and appointments with shelter staff
- Monitor and assist shelter guests in laundry and day room areas
- Clean and sanitize all sleeping areas bathrooms kitchen and office areas
- Any other duties relating to your job as requested by the Supervisors and/or Officers.
- Other related duties as required.
- KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- AA or BA Degree: two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be familiar with the social service aspects of The Salvation Army.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be 21 years or older.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to operate the telephone.
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Ability to process written visual and/or verbal information.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC Fax Machine Telephone Calculator Copier and Printer.
