Job Description

Shift: 6:00 PM Start Thursday through Monday
Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour.
Position Summary:
As a Dedicated Dispatcher for Pyle you will be the point of contact on your shift for communicating Dedicated driver needs and changes. You will also be responsible for driving a day cab tractor pulling a 53 Van or Reefer trailer carrying groceries to various locations in VA DC and North Carolina as needed.
The dispatch responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Dispatching drivers in TMW system; managing assigned driver schedules
- Making sure that drivers show up for assigned start time so they can meet customers cut times
- Being the point of contact on your shift for communicating LTL driver needs and changes
- Interacting with customers shipping team
- Ensuring drivers are following PYLE SOPS (fuel at the end of shift DVIR accurate paperless logs)
- Completing deliveries to location(s) based on daily manifest as well as picking up potential returns as needed
The driver qualifications for the position include but are not limited to:
- Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
- Minimum 1 year of recent tractor trailer experience
- Currently hold or obtain a nonexcepted interstate DOT medical card
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- No more than three moving violations and or accidents within the last three years subject to review
- Ability to communicate effectively; must be able to read write and speak English
To be qualified for this position you must possess the following:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Good computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft desired
- Ability to solve problems
- Good communication skills; excellent attention to detail and decision making skills
- Team oriented with good interpersonal skills; demonstrates initiative
The following skillsets are preferred:
- LTL Dedicated transportation or Warehouse Operations background
- Prior dispatch and routing experience along with 1 year of Class A driving experience
