Location: Bend

Compensation: $26.47/hour (plus $0.50/hour for bilingual Spanish)

Hours: Regular fulltime 40 hours/week) weekend work required

Benefits: 100 premium paid Medical Dental Vision and Life Insurance Agency paid Retirement plan (up to 6 ! almost 2 weeks of paid vacation accrued within first year plus 14 paid Holidays annually and a separate sick leave accrual.

NeighborImpact Shelter Services Overview

The mission of Shelter Services at NeighborImpact is to provide a safe noncongregate space for houseless Central Oregonians to shelter. We value the respect and dignity of all. We aim to create a space that is physically and emotionally safe for all regardless of race ethnicity nationality religion gender gender identity or sexual orientation.


Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Shelter Advocate is responsible for providing case management services for shelter guests. This role will work with program guests in a compassionate and professional manner as it relates to the program objectives. Responsibilities include supportive interaction with program guests shelter management volunteers partner agencies and team members. The Advocate also completes vulnerability assessments for potential guests and unhoused community members.


The weekly schedule for this position will include weekends. This is an onsite inperson position.

Requirements

Required

  • Associates degree in human services or related field required
  • One year of direct experience in case management required
  • Patience punctuality commitment and responsibility required
  • Passion for helping others and a desire to work in an organization that serves people who are experiencing poverty and houselessness required
  • Weekend work required
  • Required within 90 days of hire:
  1. Acquire First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  2. Complete the Bloodborne Pathogens and Naloxone Training
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. Access to reliable transportation
  2. Satisfactory criminal background check


Preferred

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Two years of experience (i.e. employment internships and longterm volunteer position) in the field preferred
  • English/Spanish bilingual preferred
  • General knowledge of substance abuse and mental illness and Trauma Informed Care preferred
