Asphalt Contractors Inc. is a fullservice selfperforming contractor with over 45 years of experience in asphalt paving concrete work roadway construction grading milling and asphalt maintenance. We serve commercial municipal and DOT clients throughout Southeast Wisconsin and beyond. Our team prides itself on quality reliability and delivering projects the right way from the ground up.
Were currently seeking a construction estimator with experience in asphalt concrete or civil sitework to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the industry and wants to work for a company that controls its own materials crews and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate estimates for asphalt paving concrete grading maintenance and civil construction projects
Read and interpret project plans specifications and bid documents
Conduct site visits and perform quantity takeoffs
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes as needed
Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to understand production methods and costs
Prepare scopes of work and submit proposals on time
Maintain organized records of bids costs and historical project data
Support preconstruction planning and value engineering when applicable
Qualifications:
3 years of estimating experience in construction (asphalt concrete sitework or civil preferred)
Familiarity with DOT specs and commercial or municipal bid processes
Ability to read blueprints and perform quantity takeoffs
Strong Excel and computer skills; experience with estimating software a plus
Detailoriented and able to manage multiple deadlines
Valid drivers license and ability to perform job site visits
