St. Michael Parish School in Olympia is seeking a full time instructional aide to join our PreKindergarten team. The instructional aide will work together with the classroom teacher and as a member of the PreK Team. The ideal candidate will be an active Catholic who is MERIT certified and current with STARS training.
Applicants should be flexible creative and experienced in working with children with a strong commitment to integrating faith into education. Candidates should be interested in working as part of a faithcentered educational team and adept at managing the various roles and responsibilities inherent in a teaching position. A dedication to nurturing both the academic and spiritual development of each child is essential.
Minimum requirements for being hired are: a successful Background Check negative TB test age 18 or older MMR verification and possessing at least a high school diploma.
Additional employment requirements (which can be completed after hiring) include: completion of the Child Care Basics course current first aid and CPR training blood borne pathogens training food handlers certification current STARS training and archdiocesan Safe Environment training.
Duties include (but arent limited to):
Assisting and working collaboratively with other PreK staff
Preparing materials projects assignments
Leading small groups
Working with students who have a diverse set of needs and learning styles
Helping to maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment
Assisting the teacher with the children and daily routines
Supervising students in various locations (recess specialists etc)
Close out the school day and prepare the classroom for the morning
Fostering positive parent communication as necessary
Promoting healthy peer interactions between children of all abilities
Maintaining confidentiality at all times

Salary: The pay range for this position is from $18$25/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
