JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: | Senior Research AssociateEvaluation | GROUP: | Research Evaluation and Development | SUPERVISOR: | Director of Evaluation | JOB STATUS: | Full Time; Exempt Salaried; Full Benefits | HOURS: | Full Time; 40 hrs/wk 1.0 FTE | SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Research Evaluation and Development the Senior Research Associate is responsible for managing and assisting with various evaluation projects. The Senior Research Associate is responsible for conducting daytoday operations of evaluation projects and supervising the project coordinators. Major responsibilities include planning and managing date collections serving as a liaison to project partners attending project management meetings developing protocol and guidelines for project coordinators assisting with writing grants report writing presenting findings at conferences and convenings and additional duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:- Plan evaluation activity steps and schedules.
- Coordinate evaluation activities with other RED staff related to research projects and development activities.
- Oversee the tasks and responsibilities of project coordinators I and II.
- Write project reports for funding compliance as requested and needed.
- Prepare and deliver project presentations as requested and needed.
- Prepare book and journal articles about research and evaluation efforts for technical and practitioner audiences.
- Represent HighScope and its evaluation work by disseminating information at professional conferences and in other meetings and venues.
- Perform other workrelated duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience: - Doctorate in early childhood education educational leadership or related field
- Experience conducting research in early childhood education child development early childhood public policy or other closely related educational issues.
- Experience creating and administering educational assessments.
- Establish a positive reputation in the early childhood field or other educational field.
Knowledge Skills Abilities: - Knowledge (general) of educational environments research practice and policy especially early childhood and elementary
- Knowledge of current research design and statistical analysis approaches
- Demonstrated supervisory and administrative skills including staff supervision evaluation and budgeting
- Demonstrated written communications skills
- Demonstrated oral communications skills through presentations to researchers
- practitioners policy makers and the general public
- Effective work habits; ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Computer skills including internet and email (Outlook) Microsoft Office (Word Excel Access Power Point Teams) meeting applications such as Zoom
- Ability to use discretion and independent judgment
- Knowledge about confidentiality and working with human subjects (maintain certification in Citi)
- Supervisory skill: ability to oversee and delegate work
- Interpersonal skills: ability to interact with others such as data collectors teachers parents and children.
Other Qualifications/Requirements (i.e. Licenses/Certifications Travel Lifting etc.: - Daytime or overnight travel as needed or assigned. Passport may be needed.
- Valid drivers license for travel with company or personal vehicles

- Ability to lift and carry approximately up to 20 lbs.
