Job Description

SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager Revenue Recognition will be a revenue recognition subject matter expert engaged in a multiyear Oracle implementation and responsible for identifying analyzing and documenting currentstate and futurestate business processes and accounting policies for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. This role will support the gathering and validation of system and business requirements design of futurestate processes and the implementation of revenue recognition business processes enabled by and designed around Oracle Cloud ERP. This role will also serve as a key member of the revenue team in supporting RealPages compliance for revenue recognition under ASC 606 including ongoing review of customer contracts new product offerings quarterly portfolio analysis and annual updates.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a Revenue Recognition subject matter expert through the full project life cycle of Oracle Cloud ERP: including planning design configuration build testing training and golive
  • Evaluate and apply revenue recognition principles in a complex SaaS environment that includes new product offerings contract modifications gross vs. net considerations variable consideration subscription vs. usage and volumebased pricing bundled products and other technical topics as needed
  • Evaluates business processes and gathers insights to recommend process enhancements and best practices leveraging RealPage technology stack and incoming Oracle ERP over revenue recognition and financial reporting process
  • Develop and implement revenue recognition policies procedures whitepapers and internal controls and plays a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements
  • Support the creation and delivery of training materials to support business process changes and ensure the development and adoption of the RealPage finance and accounting group
  • Support and participate in the monthly financial statement close and related reporting as needed; drives improvements through automation and process refinement/efficiency
  • Support the Sr. Director Revenue Recognition on other projects or duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA and Bachelors degree with major in Accounting or equivalent are required
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience including 3 years of experience in an operational accounting leadership role

REQUIRED KNOWLEDE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Experience designing implementing and supporting complex business processes in an Oracle ERP or comparable environment (Fusion G/L Revenue Management Cloud Services)
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in implementing ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting in the SaaS technology space
  • Experience in interpreting revenue contracts and documenting relevant accounting impacts
  • Solid experience with SOX requirements including the design implementation and documentation of process/procedures and internal controls
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees management and external parties to maximize performance
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel including Vlookups functions and pivot tables required
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Ability to act and operateindependently with minimal daily direction

The employee must have the ability to operate a personal computer and express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. May be required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be required to lift or move 10 pounds.
