JOB SUMMARY
The Philanthropy Gift Officer (PGO) serves as a vital bridge between compassionate donors and MAP Internationals lifesaving mission. In this transformative role youll nurture and expand relationships with dedicated mid/major donors who share our vision of a world where all people have access to essential medicines and health supplies. By crafting meaningful experiences that connect donors personal philanthropic goals with our global health initiatives youll help transform generosity into tangible impact for vulnerable communities worldwide.
As a Philanthropy Officer youll champion MAP Internationals mission by guiding a portfolio of committed supporters $5K annual contributors) on their journey from initial engagement to deepened investment in our work. More than meeting revenue targets this role offers the profound privilege of helping donors discover the joy and fulfillment that comes from addressing critical health inequities. Together with our donor partners youll help write stories of hope healing and transformed lives across the globecreating a legacy of compassion that extends far beyond financial contributions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a caseload of approximately 200 400 mid/major donors consisting mainly of individuals churches and family foundations with high giving capability.
- Steward and cultivate caseload relationships to ensure retention and growth.
- Create and implement a moves management major gift plan to ensure a strategic and integrated approach to securing new donations and ensuring existing donors are upgraded where appropriate to higher giving levels.
- Prepare and deliver stewardship reports updates and proposals to caseload donors as necessary.
- Daily communication with caseload donors through phone calls emails and direct mail to thank them for gifts and communicate the impact of their giving. Develop relationships with donors to understand passions and communicate MAPs mission and continuing efforts.
- Visit donors in person as needed and desired by the donor. Donor travels goals are one week per month
- Maintain MAPs CRM system Agilon ONE and Donor Enhancement Plan (DEP) daily to capture donor interactions and communications and allow for effective reporting
- Follow the annual plan for each donor which serves as a foundational communication and marketing plan faithfully and on a timely basis so that individuals in the caseload are retained and upgraded
- In addition to the annual plan communicate with donors consistently. This may include providing timely and appropriate stewardship feedback to donors on projects they have funded inviting donors to attend special events or communicating pressing needs.
- Be an active member of the Global Giving Team.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer. Member of the Global Giving team. The position interfaces with the following internal teams Office of the President Finance Operations IT HR other staff working directly with donors Directors of Programs and other consultants working with the organization.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree required or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a field conducive to having strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- A basic knowledge of international relief and development work health conditions overseas and/or nonprofit business skills.
- Moderate to Advanced computer skills required with proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Excel Outlook Word PowerPoint in addition to regular use of a CRM database management and general computer skills.
- A minimum of 3 years of successful mid/major gift fundraising experience preferably in the international NGO and relief sector.
- Experience in fundraising with a proven track record of achieving and surpassing targets.
- Experience raising significant gifts from individuals foundations churches and small businesses.
