Job Description
Evaluates plans treats and implements care for patients in the areas of speech language cognition and swallowing accordance with professional standards of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) using any established Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- The therapist will have primary responsibility treating patients on the inpatient rehabilitation unit on one of the stroke teams. When schedules allow flexing to support acute care patients may occur.
- This is an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) that provides intensive rehabilitation to patients after major medical events trauma etc.
- The therapist will work with an interdisciplinary team including PTs OTs SLPs PTAs and COTAs psychology nutrition recreational therapy nursing social services and physicians and advance practice providers
- Will work primarily with adult patients & occasionally with pediatric patients
- The ideal candidate will have experience with dysphagia and cognitive assessment/management
- This position has a required weekend and holiday rotation
- Most worked days are weekdays with typical hours are 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
- This position is open to students in their final year of training they can receive a monthly stipend for a maximum of 12 months before the official start date

Certification/Licensure Requirements:
- Current registration/license to practice speechlanguage pathology in the state of practice
