Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in SpeechLanguage Pathology
Certification and licensure must be within the State of Arizona
Must obtain licensure/certification with the Arizona Department of Health and Arizona Department of Education.
Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American SpeechLanguage Hearing Association is preferred
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work cooperatively with all members of staff and communicate effectively with parents.
Outstanding human relation skills

Other qualifications as the Governing Board may deem appropriate
To identify and improve speech and language development and to assist those students identified with hearing impairments that interfere with the individual students ability to derive full benefit from the districts educational programs.
Provides speech and language screenings to students referred at regular intervals and at appropriate levels.
Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of communicative disorders.
Facilitates and participates in multidisciplinary conferences develops individualized Educational Program plans and implements services to promote student speech and language development.
Provides a therapeutic program for students identified with communication disorders.
Responsible for information pertinent to students identified/placed in Speech and Language programs.
Serves as a resource to school staff members and parents in the development of a balanced program for Speech and Language students.
Assists in proper referrals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate.
Assists with requisitioning and assumes responsibilities in maintaining needed equipment/supplies for the communicatively impaired students.
Will attend national (ASHA) and state (ARSHA) etc. Speech and Language conferences and workshops that promote continued development of professional skills and knowledge.
Perform other work related duties as assigned.
