Job Description
Title:Baker
Position Purpose:
The Baker is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and maintaining and cleaning all baking equipment. This position calls for someone who is able to safely efficiently and consistently produce and present food in a high volume setting. A focus on providing outstanding customer service and exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must.
Job Duties:
- Prepare baked goods for student meals.
- Prepare baked goods for catering.
- Prepare baked goods for the Den.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Maintain proper production records.
- Ensure that proper production and sanitation standards are being maintained.
- Ensure that standardized recipes are being used.
- Maintain the highest levels of customer service and display a pleasant and helpful attitude at all times.
- Promote and value diversity and engage in twoway communication.
- Attend monthly dining meetings conferences and campus events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Culinary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
- Serve Safe certification.
Experience
- Minimum of three years experience in an institutional or high volume full service food operation.
- Previous experience in a high volume collegiate setting desired.
Skills and Knowledge
- Commitment to equity and inclusion and serving the needs of a culturally and educationally diverse community.
- Ability to establish rapport quickly with faculty students staff and outside clients staying composed and friendly.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must.
