Job Description
Sylvan Learning Center the nations leading provider of educational services seeks parttime teachers. At Sylvan Learning Center we teach students (Kindergarten through High School) at various levels to increase confidence and independence providing them with skills that will last a lifetime.
We are currently looking for experienced tutors to work at our Torrance learning center with our early learners and readers. Other available subjects include math elementary reading writing and SAT prep.
As an Instructor at Sylvan your primary responsibilities are:Just Teaching. No Lesson Plans. No Preparation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise interact with and motivate students
Reward students for completed assignments
Evaluate and document student progress
Communicate student needs to the center director
Inspire and develop a rapport with students
Establish a fun learning environment
Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Four year degree or equivalent preferred but not required
State or provincial teaching credentials preferred (current or expired)
Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred especially preschool and kindergarten level experience.
Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension preferred for reading teachers
Ability to teach all levels of HS math required for Math only tutors
Compensation: $19$21/hour
