Summary:
The Department of Internal Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has an immediate opening for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Internal Medicine physician to join our Hospitalist Team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
The Hospitalists work as part of a multidisciplinary team and support Roswell Park patients by delivering high quality inpatient care. Hospitalists render 24/7 care and treatment to Roswell Parks inpatients on the solid tumor service. They also collaborate on afterhours triage phone calls and with the staff of the Assessment and Treatment Center (ATC). The Hospitalist service also provides afterhour care to the hematology oncology inpatients.
Physicians shall be responsible for providing general internal medicine care for all solid tumor inpatients including admissions history and physicals and progress notes. The hospitalist will also comanage services at the request of members of the Medical Staff. The hospitalist has an essential role with the rapid response and code team. As an integral part of the inpatient care teams the hospitalists will effectively communicate with the various clinical teams to ensure continuity of care patient safety and efficient utilization of resources. No procedures are required Roswell Park has a supportive IR team and 24/7 Intensivists in house. In addition the hospitalist will be an active participant in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills demonstrate excellent teamwork communication and interpersonal skills that will help promote and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other clinicians at Roswell Park. Candidates must be BE/BC in Internal Medicine licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York and ACLS Certified.

Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirement
1. License or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in General Internal Medicine Family Practice or other related medical specialty.
Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree in the field of General Internal Medicine.
NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
