Job Summary:
- The Medical Provider (ARNP / PAC) role is part of the Medical Care team that supports ETS mission through connecting individuals with Evergreen Services Dispensary clinicbased services and coordinating overall patient care while they are enrolled at Evergreen Treatment Services.
- The Medical Provider (ARNP / PAC) role makes a critical difference at ETS by evaluating patients diagnosing opioid use disorder; prescribing ordering and adjusting appropriate opioid use disorder treatment medications.

- The position is fulltime onsite the location is at ETS Olympia Clinic and ETS South Sound Mobile Unit that travels daily to Shelton WA.
- The annual pay range for this position is $125000 $130000 (depending on experience) plus a $5000 sign on bonus* ETS strives to achieve pay equity and transparency as part of our goal to create an equitable workplace.
- The hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM 2:00 PM.
*Sign on bonus is in addition to the base salary and will be paid out in increments 90 days 180 days) with satisfactory performance. Please inquire with the Recruiter for more information.
What you contribute to this role Responsibilities:
- Help ETS succeed in carrying out our mission through working together with other staff to transform systems of harm and inequity to create different approaches to improving community health and safety through addressing substance use and homelessness.
- Assist with the organizationwide initiative to reimagine our interconnectedness within our community to overcome the aspects of our society and organizational culture shaped by white supremacy and settler colonialism.
- Serve as the primary medical care team coordinator for their assigned patients.
- Conduct intake medical assessment through physical examinations establish diagnosis and determine initial medication choice and dose. This can take place in the Mobile Unit community or in a clinic.
- Conduct patient dose evaluations and change medications as indicated. This can take place in the Mobile Unit community or in a clinic. or via telehealth.
- Make appropriate recommendations for followup.
- Document findings and decisionmaking about care in electronic health record.
- Draw blood for necessary laboratory testing and for pre and posttest counseling where required.
- Facilitate appropriate communication and referrals with outside medical providers for needed care and followup.
- Evaluate as necessary patients with urgent or emergent medical needs and determine if further medical assistance is necessary (e.g. calling Aid Car).
- Write medical orders for all takehome privileges seeking CSAT and DBHR exceptions as necessary.
- Order and interpret relevant lab test results.
- Offer counseling around approaches to reducing harms of and other druguse related adverse consequences.
- Coordinate with hospitals residential treatment facilities and other facilities on smooth transitions of care.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop plans of care that seek to advance patient recovery goals and reduce risk of harms.
- Participate in clinic wide Quality Improvement efforts to improve clinical care and patient experience.
- Prescribe and manage FDA approved medication treatments for other substance use disorders when indicated.
- Provide hepatitis C treatment or PreExposure HIV Prophylaxis when indicated and appropriate.
- Provide certain limited urgent care and transitional primary care services for patients when appropriate
With the development of Evergreen Treatment Services Primary Care Provider program the Medical Provider MD role will be fully aligned to support and enhance the needs of the program ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care delivery to patients.
The Medical Provider MD role provides an elevated level of care to patients as defined by the Medical Director or Associate Medical Director.
Future responsibilities included but may not be limited to:
- Program Support: Collaborate with the Primary Care Provider program team to develop and implement strategies that enhance patient care and program efficiency.
- Patient Coordination: Facilitate seamless patient transitions within the program ensuring continuity of care and effective communication between providers.

What you bring to this role Qualifications:
Licensure:
- Active Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License (ARNP) in the state of Washington (WA); Or
- Active Physician Assistant Certified License (PAC) in the state of Washington (WA)
Education and/or Relevant and Lived Experience (if applicable):
- Experience in drug abuse treatment is desired.
- Possession of a DATAwaiver for prescription of buprenorphine is desired but not required.
- All Medical Providers must also have Schedule II and below prescriptive authority from the State of Washington.
Knowledge and Skills:
- An understanding of racial justice and social equity and a commitment to helping create an equitable environment for all ETS clients and patients as well as fellow staff.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients patients and staff from a wide variety of ethnic socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
- Must have knowledge of the patient population as well as the properties and side effects of opioid use disorder treatment medications and other the patients may use.
- Have an understanding and alignment with a care philosophy that is nonjudgmental and harm reduction focused.
- Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/ written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload work independently and complete tasks timely and efficiently.
- Dependable able to work under pressure receptive to change willingness to learn cooperative approach to problem solving.
- Flexible team player with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling highly sensitive information.
- Ability to set boundaries resolve conflict and deescalate issues.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as a high level of initiative in keeping current with technological change.
Additional Essential Information:
Physical Conditions and Requirements:
- The employee may be exposed to illicit drug residues and fumes or other biohazardous materials when carrying out job functions. There is also potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens. ETS will provide employees with appropriate training to limit the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Policies and procedures are in place addressing each item specifically.
- The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; frequently required to stand walk and kneel; occasionally to climb balance or stoop; rarely to crouch or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close color and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
