Oncologist

Location: Calgary Alberta Canada

Schedule: TBD with qualifying applicant

Calgary Animal Referral & Emergency Centre is welcoming aBoard Certified Veterinary Medical Oncologistto join our specialty health care team. The specialty team currently includes a boardcertified Radiologist Neurologist Oncologist Dermatologist Ophthalmologist Surgeons Internal Medicine and a boardcertified Criticalist.

About Our Ideal Candidate:

  • You have completed an Oncology residency and are qualified or will be qualified as a Diplomate of ACVIM (Oncology)

  • You are confident in your abilities and do not require another oncologist to be on site. You will have a network to collaborate with across the VCA network in Canada and the US and this excites you!

  • You are eager for an opportunity to build your own practice with our referring community. You will be supported in doing so with leadership marketing and other support office areas to help you build your business.

  • Experience with; varied cases a crosssection of clients and all levels of staff

  • Licensed in Alberta or eligible to be licensed

  • You will demonstrate positive and caring leadership qualities combined with a team player attitude to enable all our teams to flourish. It takes all of us to succeed together!

  • Training and mentoring are key to assisting the next generation of veterinary professionals you understand this and are fully committed.

  • Excellent diagnostic and critical thinking skills

  • Meticulous with medical records

  • Exemplary customer service that builds loyalty and trust with your clients and the referring community

  • Strong organizational skills which allow you to stay focused and work under pressure in those moments

About Us: C.A.R.E. is a 24hour emergency and referral specialty hospital that operates out of a 26000 square foot facility in Calgary. The hospital is undergoing a complete update and expansion to facilitate the evergrowing caseload and expanding specialty services including the design of a new stateoftheart ICU. Opportunities for professional development abound including teaching interns and University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine students and formal mentorship of interns.
