Job Description

At a facility in the Oceanview Merced Ingleside area OMI Senior Center Services helps seniors maintain their independence and remain living in the community. The OMI Senior Center provides activities and classes in a safe environment during the day. Seniors receive hot meals guidance and support as well as referrals to additional services available throughout San Francisco.

Salary: $75000$98000 per year

Location: Onsite 5 days a week

Under general supervision from the Associate Deputy Director the Program Director assumes responsibility for daytoday operational management of all overall program activities and functions. Responsibilities include oversight of property management component of program staff supervision developing implementing and evaluating program policies procedures and standards; determining program service levels and enhancements; as required developing and monitoring program budgets; providing technical advice and/or supervision to staff other departments the public and other agencies and performs related work as required.

  • Service Management: Develop maintain and improve standards for client service and written procedures and protocols for services.
  • Operations: Monitor and direct daytoday operations for assigned service area in compliance with Catholic Charities policies and procedures and according to State Licensing requirements and contract funders.
  • Fiscal Management: In conjunction with the Associate Deputy Director responsible for sound fiscal management practices to include developing monitor and stay within assigned and approved budget.
  • Communication: Consistently practice effective missionbased communication across all levels throughout the organization.
  • Leadership: Participate as a member of an organizationwide Management Team to deliver the highest quality of services in keeping with the mission vision and values of the organization.
  • Community: Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with collaborative service providers funders and communities.
  • Employee Development: Supervisory responsibilities to include hiring promoting compensating training disciplining scheduling directing terminating developing and performance management of employees and interns.
  • Strategic Planning: Develops strategic plans; sets objectives based on goals; mission and values; gathers input and knowledge of others; adjusts and monitors plans as needed.
  • Development: In conjunction with the Associate Deputy Director participates in the acquisition of new and renewals of foundation grants and government contracts and provides for reports on funds received; including writing of proposals reports letters and other communications.
  • Revenue Management: In conjunction with the Associate Deputy Director responsible for managing all revenue sources to include contract renewals acquisition of new contracts and/or fundraising and collection of fees.
  • Data entry into appropriate and assigned data base systems and completion of monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies i.e. OOA OnLok 30th Street Senior Services Nutrition Program Health Department Fire Department EOC SF Marin Food Bank OSHA and Paratransit etc.
  • Work with Activity Coordinator and Program Planning Committee as requested to plan special programming events and fundraising.
  • Be trained and prepared to implement emergency procedures for group or individuals and tend to emergencies as they arise.
  • Coordinate community outreach with program staff.
  • Attend meetings and training programs as requested.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in psychology social work or a related human services field required.
  • MSW or Masters Degree in a related field preferred. 3 years of directly related experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the management of a human services delivery system required and prior experience overseeing a direct service program are highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working with government contracts and managing applicable regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Supervisory Responsibility Plan organize direct and guide the activities of team members. Participate in hiring training and performance evaluations.
  • Problem Solving Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Diversity demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; educate others on the value of diversity; promotes a harassmentfree environment; builds a diverse workforce.
  • Language Skills Ability to read analyze technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports proposals business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
  • Promote a positive professional and organizational image in the community.
  • Second language skills in Mandarin/Cantonese Spanish or Tagalog highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in crosscultural situations.

Clearances Required Prior to the First Day of Employment:

  • Is responsible for accurate and timely data entry that aids Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting and case record reviews.
  • Is responsible for accurate and timely submission of case records.
  • Serves on a quarterly case record review committee for Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting.
  • Serves on department or program Performance and Quality Improvement PQI Committee responsible for monitoring goals and reporting.

  • Valid CA drivers license and personal car preferred.

If driving a car is required for the position incumbent must have a valid California drivers license and be able to provide proof of DMV record and personal insurance (if required.
