Scope of Responsibility:
This is an entrylevel position designed to acclimate an individual to a career track in estimating. Under the guidance of a Senior Estimator an Associate Estimator will develop skills and insight into the preconstruction process by gathering and preparing routine estimating data compiling that data for use in bid proposal estimates and providing general support as needed within the Estimating Department.

Essential Functions:
Estimate Preparation
o Review project plans & specifications to identify required scopes of work
o Compile quantity takeoffs from project documents
o Solicit pricing proposals from and verify participation of subcontractors as needed
o Assist in preparation of designbuild designbidbuild and conceptual estimates
Data Collection & Analysis
o Compile and organize data for use in cost estimates
o Develop and maintain bid spreadsheets
o Keep current on changes and trends in construction methods & materials
Communication and Coordination
o Build and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships
o Participate in and support preconstruction activities and meetings
o Assist with documentation of preconstruction communications (submittals RFIs etc.

Education & Experience:
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred but will consider other combinations of education or experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel) OnScreen TakeOff Bulebeam Pantera (or similar preconstruction software)
OSHA10 (OSHA30 preferred)
Technical Skills & Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret construction plans & specifications
Understanding of common construction and estimating principles and practices
Attention to detail and accuracy
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment
Problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Visual acuity to read review and analyze information is required.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel:
Some travel to visit job sites for PreBid meetings may be required
