Duties And Responsibilities
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the scope of work is similar related or a logical assignment to this classification. 1. Ability to teach any of the following courses in the Anthropology Department: Introduction to Archaeology Introduction to Physical Anthropology Physical Anthropology Laboratory Introduction to Cultural Anthropology Ethnographic Film Archaeology Field Experience Travel Study in Anthropology and/or Anthropology Cooperative Education/Work experience. 2. Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours. 3. Maintain expertise in current teaching and discipline technologies. 4. Perform other duties as required by contract collective bargaining agreement and general institutional needs. The College offers day and evening classes.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Masters or above in anthropology or archaeology OR Bachelors in either of the above AND Masters or above in sociology biological sciences forensic sciences genetics or paleontology OR the equivalent (see below) Demonstrated cultural competence sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff
