Senior Risk Assessor Loss Control
Full Time Remote or Hybrid Time Field Work Required

As part of our Loss Prevention Program our dedicated team will conduct inspections and provide recommendations to our policyholders for their residential farm or commercial properties. A key responsibility is for our risk assessors to help identify potential hazards and suggest improvements to existing equipment maintenance practices and procedures to help prevent losses before they occur.
The Role
This role will involve working independently and as a team to complete loss control risk assessments of residential farm and commercial policyholder properties and preparing comprehensive and consistent reports for our underwriting team.
As the successful candidate you will:
Perform detailed onsite risk assessments of policyholder properties considering the fire code building code electrical code or any other codes or standards that may apply
Use thermal imaging technology (when applicable) to assess the condition of the electrical and mechanical systems
Review the site for potential environmental and liability concerns
Assist in responding to risk management questions from managers underwriters policyholders or brokers
Prepare and deliver risk management training to other employees or our broker partners
Continually keep current of new standards and codes or new construction methods for farm buildings commercial buildings and residential properties.
Qualifications and Skills
Trade experience in electrical plumbing heating and/or construction
Experience performing risk assessments of farm commercial and residential properties
Thorough knowledge of agribusiness farming and commercial operations
Must have a working knowledge of the National Building Code the Ontario Electrical Code and the Ontario Fire Code
Proficient with Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills
Required Possess a valid Ontario Drivers License (Gclass) and access to a vehicle on a daily basis
Proven ability to work independently and to organize workload and schedule
Ability to work cooperatively positively and in a professional manner with others to facilitate an effective team environment
Work in accordance with organizational and departmental expectations
Adhering to health and safety requirements by working in a safe and organized manner
Excellent interpersonal problem solving report writing and analytical skills are mandatory
Knowledge of thermal imaging cameras would be an asset
Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours is required
Knowledge of solid fuel heating systems WETT Certification would be an asset
