Position Summary:
The FWS Esports Operations Assistant will be an assistant to the head of esports and an essential component of a vibrant organized and successful program. They will create and coordinate esport events oncampus and online support the community through the discord platform assist in various recruiting responsibilities manage the flow of communications and operations from all aspects of the Esports program and work with coaches and players to provide a worldclass ConsciousnessBased approach to Esports.

Job Responsibilities:
Discord Community Management: Oversee and manage the Discord platform ensuring smooth communication and engagement within the esports community.
Event Coordination: Create organize and host both oncampus and online esports events ensuring high participation and seamless .
Departmental Collaboration: Attend ConsciousnessBased Sports meetings with the Athletic Department to support the integration of esports.
Facility Supervision: Supervise and maintain the esports facilities ensuring that equipment and spaces are organized and ready for use.
Coach & Player Support: Assist competitive coaches and players with scheduling teambuilding troubleshooting technical issues and structuring practices.
Casual Club Assistance: Work with the casual video game club aiding in communication event planning and activities to foster a thriving community.
Recruiting Support: Assist the head of esports with recruitment efforts including organizing recruiting events and activities to attract potential talent.
Job Qualifications:
Highly Organized and SelfMotivated: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and independently with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Esports and IT Experience: Familiarity with the esports industry and basic IT troubleshooting skills particularly related to gaming setups software and equipment.
Strong Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including students coaches and faculty both inperson and online.
Team Collaboration and Leadership Skills: Experience in working within a team leading initiatives and fostering a positive environment for group success.
Event Planning Experience: Knowledge or experience in planning and coordinating events including logistics and community engagement.
ProblemSolving Ability: Capable of quickly diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to esports hardware software and networks.
Recruiting Support Skills: Experience or willingness to learn how to assist with recruitment efforts including event coordination and outreach to potential players.

Owen Blake Ph.D. is a professor of Maharishi Vedic Science as well as the Head of Esports at MIU. Dr. Blake was a performance coach for a toptier Esport team in Europe for several years while collecting data for his Ph.D. investigating the effects of Transcendental Meditation technique on performance and burnout in esports.
