Job Description

      • Job Title: SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP)
        Location: Lawrence MA
        Reports to: Director of Special Education / School Principal
        Employment Type: Fulltime

        Job Overview

        The School is seeking a passionate and skilled SpeechLanguage Pathologist to provide highquality services to students in grades K8. The SLP will assess diagnose and treat speech language and communication disorders working closely with students families and staff to promote academic and social success.

        Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment and Diagnosis
        • Conduct comprehensive speech language and communication evaluations using standardized and informal assessment tools.
        • Identify students with communication disorders and determine the impact on their educational performance.
        • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to IEP development and goalsetting.
      • Intervention and Therapy
        • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on IEP goals.
        • Provide direct and indirect services in individual small group or classroom settings.
        • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support language development and communication skills in the classroom environment.
      • IEP Development and Compliance
        • Write and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations.
        • Document therapy sessions maintain accurate records and regularly communicate progress to families and staff.
        • Ensure compliance with IDEA and other special education regulations.
      • Collaboration and Consultation
        • Work closely with teachers specialists and paraprofessionals to integrate communication strategies into daily instruction.
        • Provide consultation and training to staff and families on communication strategies and accommodations.
        • Act as a resource for teachers to enhance classroom communication and language practices.
      • Professional Development
        • Stay updated on best practices and emerging research in the field of speechlanguage pathology.
        • Participate in schoolbased professional development sessions and share knowledge with colleagues.
      • Qualifications

        Education and Licensure

        • Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited program.
        • Valid Massachusetts SLP license or eligibility for licensure.
        • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
