The role of RN in Telemetry/MedicalSurgical care demands the application of facility policies professional philosophies and patientcentered principles to deliver competent nursing care. In this role you will provide direct patient care related to monitoring assessment and treatment of cardiac and other medical conditions. You will utilize advanced practice skills critical thinking and problemsolving skills to meet the unique need of each patient. This position collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure patient care plans are implemented and monitored for effectiveness. This position requires 12 shifts from 7AM730PM or 7PM730AM.

Job Requirements:
The Telemetry/Med Surg RN is responsible for the clinical management of the unit.
Assures compliance with professional regulatory governmental and organizational standards.
Assures satisfaction of patients while educating them on lifestyle changes and updates regarding the diagnosis medication and discharge instructions prior to discharge from the hospital.
Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
Provides safe effective and compassionate nursing care for a patient population using critical thinking skills advocacy abilities and ethical approaches.
Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient s condition and reports changes to the physician.
Performs interventions according to identified priorities plan of care infection control and hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
Actively participates in Quality Assurance/Process Improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes such as monitoring compliance of core measures infection control practices etc.
Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.
Qualifications:
Associate degree from a professional nursing program (required)
BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
Current Registered Nurse License in this state (Illinois)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
1 year of experience in clinical expertise to which applying (required)
Able to work various hours as needed.
