Director of Medical Physics and Strategic Initiatives
Position Overview:
Metis Organizational Solutions is seeking a dynamic and highly qualified Boarded Medical Physicist to join our team. This role blends technical expertise in medical physics with leadership responsibilities in training project management and organizational development. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission by ensuring excellence in medical physics services while actively engaging in innovative initiatives professional development and thought leadership. Key Responsibilities:
Medical Physics Expertise
Provide clinical medical physics support including quality assurance treatment planning and safety audits ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Deliver virtual and onsite training programs for radiation oncology teams focusing on best practices emerging technologies and regulatory compliance.
Training and Development
Design and lead customized training sessions for internal teams clients and contractors to foster professional growth and operational excellence.
Develop training materials including manuals presentations and online modules tailored to diverse audiences.
Project and Contractor Management
Oversee and manage locum contractor assignments ensuring seamless integration and highquality service delivery at client sites.
Lead and manage projects related to radiation oncology optimization workflow improvements and technology implementations.
Monitor project progress address challenges and deliver results aligned with client expectations and organizational goals.
Professional Contributions and Leadership
Represent Metis Organizational Solutions at industry conferences workshops and events through presentations and speaking engagements.
Author articles whitepapers and case studies for publication in industry journals newsletters and the company blog.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
Thought Leadership and Innovation
Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader in the field of medical physics and radiation oncology.
Stay abreast of advancements in medical physics contributing insights to inform company strategy and service offerings.
Build relationships with clients stakeholders and industry professionals to expand Metis Organizational Solutions influence and reach.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Masters degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
Board certification in Medical Physics (e.g. ABR CCPM or equivalent).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical medical physics with a focus on radiation oncology.
Proven experience in training public speaking and content creation within a professional or academic setting.
Strong project management skills with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering results.
Exceptional communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to travel for onsite engagements and speaking opportunities as needed.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with locum contractors or in a consulting capacity.
Knowledge of innovative practices in organizational development process improvement or talent optimization.
Proficiency in modern software tools used for presentations training and project management.
