The newly established Partners HealthCare (PHS) Clinical Trials Office (CTO) is responsible for facilitating industrysponsored clinical research. The goals of the CTO are to reduce redundancies integrate separate offices currently existing at PHS improve compliance and financial management and work directly with the Massachusetts General Hospital Brigham and Womens Hospital McLean Hospital and Spaulding to enable a more streamlined process. The CTO will be part of the office of the PHS Chief Academic Officer.
We are looking for an individual with experience coordinating clinical trials and clinical research. Similar to a senior clinical research/trials coordinator the CTO Navigator position will serve as a facilitator between investigators and the multiple departments that impact a clinical trial proposal supporting the clinical investigators and their staff throughout the three stages of clinical research: study initiation coordination and close out. Represents the PHS CTO at MGH BWH McLean and Spaulding.
Serves as the liaison for the CTO at the PHS institutions: MGH BWH McLean and Spaulding. Liaison would spend the majority of their time at the assigned primary institution.
Develops and maintains guidance materials knowledge base and SOPs on industry clinical trial proposal development and submission processes.
Proactively engages with investigators and study staff; advocates on their behalf to relevant institutional offices/departments (e.g. ancillary reviews for IRB protocol submission)
Develops relationships with key staff in relevant hospital departments and research administration offices.
Works with the hospitals clinical research leadership to assist with the hospitalspecific projects/initiatives as needed (e.g. ancillary reviews device trial budget review etc).
Facilitates communication between the CTO and investigator when needed (e.g. communicating delays sending reminders when information is needed identifying point person to answer specific questions etc).
Monitors proposal across the entire submission process assists when needed during other parts of the proposal lifecycle (such as but not limited to the IRB process the contract and budgeting process etc). Participates in CTO triage meetings.
Support overall CTO and Partners objectives.
A minimum 5 years clinical research experience.
Bachelors degree required.
Experience working in or with clinical trials clinical research management/administration and/or IRBs required. Familiarity with electronic proposal submission systems preferred.
Proven ability to play a key role in conducting a successful clinical research study.
Highly organized with ability to concurrently manage multiple requirements opportunities and relationships with sometimes competing deadlines.
Sound interpersonal skills; ability to supervise others who may not have a direct reporting relationship.
Ability to work independently and display initiative to introduce innovations to the clinical trial lifecycle process; ability to identify problems and develop solutions; ability to prioritize tasks and set deadlines.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

This is an officebased job. Travel is less than 5. This position will be based at one of the hospitals (MGH or BWH) with dual reporting to the CTO and the respective hospital clinical research office.
