- Professional licensure in Massachusetts as Nurse Practitioner required.
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner degree required.
- Maintains appropriate level of competency in the care of pediatric patients in an inpatient setting obstetrics and in the emergency room.
- Writes prescriptions in accordance with patients needs and regulatory and practice guidelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will have a multifaceted role caring for pediatric patients in several locations within Norwood Hospital as part of the MassGeneral Hospital for Children Program at Norwood Hospital. The NP will work in close collaboration with a supervising physician as well as other members of the pediatric care delivery team at Norwood Hospital.
- The NP will provide inhouse coverage at Norwood Hospital on a per diem basis.
- The NP will collaborate with the supervising physician in order to car for patients in the wellbaby nursery obstetrics inpatient pediatrics and the pediatric observation unit.
- The NP will provide pediatric consultative services in the Norwood Hospital Emergency Department upon request.
- The NP will collaborate with the MassGeneral Hospital for Children physicians practicing at Norwood Hospital as well as the emergency department and other physicians nurses and staff at Norwood Hospital.
- The NP will manage the health care of pediatric patients through advanced health assessment diagnosis intervention and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a supervising physician.
- The NP will develop treatment plans treat patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
- The NP will coordinate the care of select patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families coordination of services and placing referrals.
- The NP will coordinate patient transfers and admissions within the pediatric service.
