Job description

Following established protocols and procedures operates CT Imaging and other related equipment to provide images to be used for physicians for diagnosis and treatment. Maintains the daily flow of the department to provide efficient timely and quality service to the ordering physicians.

Specific Duties

  • Operates CT Imaging equipment. Ensures the patient is properly prepared obtains relevant history assures proper positioning. Selects proper imaging techniques and follows department protocols. Provides all appropriate documentation. Ensures patient and physician receives any and all associated communication regarding the exam or follow up and provides documentation of same.
  • Considers the physical and emotional needs of the patient during all encounters; maintains ethical standards patient confidentiality and patients physical privacy
  • Possesses ability to provide IV access
  • Prepares and administers contract media as prescribed by a radiologist according to protocol. Demonstrates understanding of all precautions contraindications and possible adverse effects associated with contrast administration
  • Maintains knowledge of all department equipment including but not limited to imaging equipment film printers power injector and computer programs
  • Responsible for QA/QC and all appropriate documentation
  • Coordinated the general and technical supervision of department staff according to all Pentucket Medical Associates governmental and other regulatory standards.
  • Recommends and implements departmental policies and procedures; suggests departmental goals and objectives
  • Ensures for appropriate; efficient and timely flow of all paperwork including billing information preexam documentation tests reports and file maintenance
  • Remains current in developments and trends in imaging techniques procedures and equipment. Participates in educational programs maintains CEUs according to state and national guidelines. Attends staff meetings as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Graduate of formal program in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT certified and possess MA license as a Radiologic Technician
  • BCLS certified
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Skill in acquiring and effectively utilizing knowledge of imaging processes techniques and procedures
