The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for the planning and of business development and marketing initiatives for the Americas Capital Markets Debt Finance Structured Finance and Financial Institutions Regulatory practices. They will also help build best practices for various processes across the team oversee two direct reports (one of whom will be shared with the Latin America Practice) and work closely with the firms Public Company Group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the business development efforts and initiatives for the Americas Capital Markets Debt Finance Structured Finance and Financial Institutions Regulatory practices.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and help promote an exceptional culture across the team.
  • Work with the Global Business Development Director of Practices to create and implement best practices for the Americas Capital Markets Debt Finance Structured Finance and Financial Institutions Regulatory teams and oversee the development and work product of the direct reports.
  • Drive the of the practices strategic business plans and track progress on a continual basis.
  • Work closely with senior BD leadership and practice leadership on global and local crossselling and client targeting efforts including as they relate to the firms key client program.
  • Oversee pitches and RFP responses directory and award submissions conference sponsorships and road shows and the development/maintenance of practice group credentials and other relevant materials ensuring that each is thoughtfully tailored to the specific opportunity at hand.
  • Conduct client feedback interviews and ensure that feedback is onboarded and acted upon as appropriate.
  • Work with the Competitive Intelligence team to evaluate practice group strengths weaknesses opportunities and threats and conduct research on existing and prospective clients competitor activity and industry or market trends to help drive strategic decisions and create revenue/profitability opportunities.
  • Act as Client Account Manager on up to 3 of the firms key client accounts coordinating the relationships globally and leveraging a strong understanding of the clients strategies challenges and competitive and regulatory landscapes to identify client development opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other teams such as Events PR/Comms etc. to ensure a seamless process that will help raise the profile of the firm and these practices in particular.
  • Organize and attend partner meetings develop agendas document key takeaways and followup on agreed actions.

Qualifications

The position requires a highenergy and motivated team player who is also able to work independently as the business development point person for partners engaged in Finance Capital Markets Financial Regulatory and related work. The individual must be able to adapt to change balance competing demands and manage demands outside of traditional business hours. They must also be able to work with senior BD leadership to create and implement best practices regarding experience management pitching client targeting etc. all while bringing a proactive approach to their work.

  • 7 years of relevant business development experience in a professional services firm.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills and the ability to synthesize interpret and summarize information from a wide variety of sources in a clear concise manner.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to work well with others across functions levels and geographies.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail.
  • A proactive thinker who is excited to bring new ideas to the table.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to develop and display strong substantive knowledge of the supported practices and markets.
  • Experience writing pitches and proposals.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Finance and Capital Markets preferred.
  • Corporate law firm experience preferred.
  • Practice portfolio is subject to change to maintain alignment with the evolving needs of the firm.

The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $200000 to $250000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be determined based on various jobrelated factors including skills education training credentials experience the scope and complexity of role responsibilities geographic location and performance. This is a exempt role meaning it is not eligible for overtime pay.
