We are now seeking a Supervisor with a strong understanding of manufacturing practices to lead and advise a team of Leading Hands. The Workshop Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the team meets and exceeds expectations in quality volume and conduct. This position will lead by example and embody PROKs high quality standards.
Our Opportunity
The Workshop Supervisor will oversee workshop production ensuring our conveyor roller products are of the highest quality production targets are met and work is conducted in a safe manner. The Workshop Supervisor will be a leader on the workshop floor and will focus on:
- Strategy: Develop effective production plans to maintain the steady flow of production with limited down time or interruption.
- : Oversee production schedules allocate resources effectively and coordinate with team members to meet deadlines. Work closely with the Quality and Safety teams to uphold quality standards ensuring production meets specifications.
- Culture: Guide support and inspire the production team to excel fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to safety practices.
- Structure: This will be a key position in ensuring the communication and collaboration between leading hands production engineers safety and quality personnel and senior management.
- Innovation: Drive LEAN initiatives to optimise workflows reduce waste and enhance efficiency within the workshop.
This is a fulltime permanent position based in our Smeaton Grange workshop.
About You
The ideal Workshop Supervisor comes from a leadership position in heavy industry. The Workshop Supervisor will inspire positive workplace culture encourage pride in the produce of the workshop and promote a safe and respectful environment. You will also be:
- A Qualified Professional: Completed Cert III in Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Weldling). LEAN Training with a proven record of implementing improvements would also be highly advantageous.
- A Proven Leader: Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership position within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Comfortable managing not only floor employees but leading hands as well.
- Proficient With Various Tooling Equipment & Machinery: Experience with and able to oversea the safe operations of forklifts various cutting machines (steel tube and bright bars) tube boring equipment end cap welding machines horizontal and vertical presses and painting equipment.
- A Strong Communicator: Able to communicate with all levels of seniority. From floor employees to the General Manager you are a professional that can give clear direction updates and feedback to any and all stakeholders.
- Relentless bias to action: A problem solver that takes prides in producing quality work and positive team outcomes.
