GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Codman Center for Clinical Effectiveness in Surgery (CCCES) leads quality and safety initiatives and surgical outcomes research for the Department of Surgery and works to ensure that surgical care locally and nationally is safe equitable effective efficient appropriate and patientcentered. The Codman Center infrastructure is leveraged in several ways including: advancing the academic careers of surgeons residents and nurses; assisting surgeons in making informed decisions about the quality of care delivered; determining areas of focus for performance improvement efforts; educating surgeons and residents about surgical outcomes and quality of care; and informing third parties of the quality of care thereby influencing state and national healthcare policy.
Under the general direction of the Director and the Senior Manager the Research Grant Administrator will oversee grant related research projects for the CCCES. The incumbent will provide critical project management for current and future national grants. The Research Grant Administrator will coordinate and execute all activities necessary for the CCCES to launch conduct and close out all research activities associated with grants for the center.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Coordinates and executes tasks necessary for the centers PCORI grant that includes focus groups alpha pilot beta pilot and a national rollout of PROMs surveys for bariatric patients under the guidance of the Center Director
  2. Establishes and monitors timelines and benchmarks for grant
  3. Serves as primary resource for compliance daily administrative and operational requirements ofthe centers grants
  4. Assists in the preparation of grant related reports and presentations
  5. Coordinates meetings focus groups lectures conferences etc. including scheduling preparing agenda distributing reminders and arranging for refreshments conference room and transportation as needed.
  6. Assists in writing and submission of research funding requests grant proposals and publications
  7. Accurately maintains databases according to physician/scientist requirements.
  8. Performs literature searches as necessary.
  9. Serves as office liaison between Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the CCCES processing requests for new research protocols completing continuing reviews for ongoing studies and submitting amendments for any changes to a study.
  10. Serve as point of contact for all subjects that are recruited for focus groups
  11. Primary point of contact for the Office of Research Management Office of Research Finance and the Departments Senior Grants Administrator.
