The Supervisor of Radiology oversees all Radiographers and lead diagnostic radiology technologists
The Supervisor of Radiology manages and takes care of daytoday operations of the section in conjunction with the Radiology Program Manager.
Develops staffing plan in accordance to workflow needs.
Develops policies and procedures for daily operations.
Works with the Radiologist to ensure that the imaging standards are maintained. Recommends changes to the protocol that would improve the overall quality and care for the patient.
Develops and maintains a quality assurance plan for the Diagnostic Imaging program.
Participates in the research and development of new exam and protocols.
Enters the appropriate charges into the RIS/HIS (Meditech) accurately for all exams.
Ensures that all exams are interpreted and a written report is available in a timely fashion.
Follows hospital guidelines in maintaining and improving staff performance (i.e. disciplinary actions performance improvement plans performance appraisals
Process weekly payroll for those reporting to supervisor of diagnostic radiology.
Ensures all diagnostic staff are fully compliant with state licensure national certification and continuing education documentation requirements.
Develops a workflow plan and adapts the workflow as necessary to a changing environment.
Monitors the equipment performance and takes the appropriate measures to have the problems resolved (i.e. arrange service/repairs).
Consistently demonstrates effective communication both written and verbal with all departmental hospital staff and vendors.
Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care.
