GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Division of Global Health Equity (DGHE) fosters the support and coordination of training research and service to reduce disparities in disease burden and to improve treatment outcomes both at home and abroad. The Division focuses on infectious diseases (e.g. HIV and tuberculosis) as well as noninfectious diseases (e.g. coronary artery disease diabetes addiction) and other health problems (that disproportionately affect populations in the developing world) of major importance to society. The DGHE is a founding partner of the Global Health Delivery Project (GHD).

The Research Assistant will support several case study development research and writing projects led by Dr. Rebecca Weintraub at the Global Health Delivery Project at Harvard. The research is conducted through the Brigham and Womens Division of Global Health Equity.

This position will work with staff faculty and others in the creation of teaching materials and scholarly research on global health delivery. The Research Assistant will fulfill specific research and data finding tasks as well as transcribe interviews. The position will assist with literature reviews and bibliographic management. The Research Assistant also may support the production of complementary teaching materials including concept notes journal articles working papers and reviews.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performing sophisticated research utilizing a worldclass library and the Internet
  • Transcribing interviews with experts and involve public private and multilateral organizations in both the U.S. and abroad
  • Organizing data
  • Drafting case materials incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Collecting and creating case exhibits
  • Editing and refining writing and language in accordance with the GHD Project style guide
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks related to case development
  • Communicating clearly with GHD team about status of work products and availability and meeting agreedupon deadline
  • Assisting with other writing and communications materials for the Global Health Delivery Project
