Education/Degree
- Graduateof an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- BLSrequired
Experience
- Threeyears of clinical experience preferably concentrated within the clinicalspecialties of the program.
- Previoussupervisory experience in one of the following capacities: OT supervisor clinical instructor orsupervisor of occupational aides/assistants under the guidance of an OTsupervisor.
Licensure
- Licensed(and in good standing) as an occupational therapist in the Commonwealth ofMassachusetts.
Skills(Specific learnedactivity gained through training (e.g. computer skills keyboardingpresentation CPR ACLS etc.
- Appropriateknowledge occupational therapy evaluation and treatment techniques to managethe rehabilitation population
- Participatedin activities which would require application of leadership skillsspecifically interactive team building.
- Safelyexecute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self orpatients. Demonstrates the ability toassess and interact with patients and families using the theories of humangrowth and development family systems and cultural background.
- Highlydeveloped communications and interpersonal skills working with diversepopulation.
- Advancedskills in teaching others and self assessment of learning needs strengths andprofessional goals.
- Computerproficiency required. Microsoft officeapplications preferred with ability to learn new software.

Summary
Assumeoperational and clinical responsibilities for occupational therapy services ona particular unit program or department.Participate in quality improvement and program/department developmentactivities. Provide consultativeservices to physical therapists to achieve stated goals for performance. Participate in development and assurance ofgeneral and program specific competencies as it relates to the patientpopulation served.
Key Responsibilities
- Team members areoriented mentored and supported to achieve stated goals for performance. Performance feedback is integrated intoperformance evaluations.
- Provide patient care as per Occupational Therapist jobdescription.
- Therapists are mentored to achieve professional standards ofpractice per network and facility policies and procedures.
- Academic roles and research are fostered within the rehabilitationteam.
- Patient satisfaction and productivity goals are managed andachieved. Gaps are identified andimprovement plans are put in place
- Strategic planning input is provided to achieve department andorganizational goals
- Patients visitors and other health care professionals in thecommunity are educated to the role of the occupational therapist and inparticular as it relates to the specific programs.
- Overall educational needs of staff are identified and prioritiesare determined and shared with Director.
- Management meetings are attended as identified with Director.
- Program/departmental based marketing efforts are supported toachieve stated objectives.
- Additionaldepartment organization or network activities are completed per establishedobjectives.
