What youll do:
The Network Software Services and Automation (NSSA) team builds software services and frameworks which are used by our customers Xs Network Engineers to deploy operate and monitor Xs global network infrastructure. Our products span across all the aspects of network management: metric collection configuration management & deployment zerotouch provisioning network monitoring and alarming & autoremediation among others. We are involved in all aspects of network design with an automationfirst approach to ensure the X production network is operated with the highest degree of reliability. We build extensible frameworks to make it possible for network engineers to develop their casespecific automation rapidly and reliably through our foundational tools and services.
At X our small but fastpaced team values innovation creativity and a strong commitment to our mission. In this role you will have a major impact on the architectures and designs of distributed software systems enabling X network engineering teams to deploy monitor and operate Xs global network at scale. You will be driving automation software design and implementation collaborating within and across teams. You will have strong verbal and written communications and a strong sense of ownership.
Your daytoday responsibilities will include:
Collaborate with our customers network engineers to understand their requirements and use cases
Translate customer requirements into scalable robust and futureproof software solutions
Prototype Design and Implement software systems
Write code that is clear concise maintainable and performant
Develop and maintain quality technical and nontechnical documentation
Operationally support troubleshoot and improve the software systems our team has built
Mentor and support your fellow engineers
Multiply the effectiveness of the team by providing code and design reviews setting the bar for quality high and defining teams software development best practices.
Who you are
Were looking for exceptional engineers who are passionate about our mission and have a strong desire to make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate will have:
4 years of professional software development experience
Strong computer science fundamentals algorithms and data structures background
Proficiency in one or more objectoriented programing language
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for software development life cycles
Experience with businesscritical distributed largescale systems
Strong desire for learning and growth
Enjoy interacting with and helping internal customers
Experience with network engineering developing network automation network controllers or building automation systems for infrastructure is not required but would be beneficial
