Qualified candidates are invited to submit an application using the following URL: Department of Pediatrics at CHEO University of Ottawa is recruiting a fulltime locum Gastroenterologist within the Division of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition to fill a 6month term with possible extension to 1 year.
The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together we provide outstanding patient care leading research and quality pediatric medical education. The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns children and youth of the Ottawa area as well as those from Eastern Ontario Western Quebec Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million). The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions which includes Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition.
The Division of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition provides a comprehensive array of services and includes a dedicated Inflammatory Bowel Disease team and clinic. The Division provides specialty care in the fields of Pediatric Hepatology Upper Gastrointestinal pathology Pancreatology in addition to General gastroenterology services. The division has 6 fulltime members and a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals consisting of nurses dietitians and social workers. In addition the Division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The clinical role includes inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services as well as endoscopic procedures.
Candidates for this position must have an MD and be eligible for licensing in the Province of Ontario. Applicants should be eligible and become certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent.
