Key job responsibilities
Design develop and maintain highly reliable scalable software systems for AWS services.
Build innovative new features and capabilities into AWS services to solve complex customer problems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues through root cause analysis balancing timetoresolution with proper fix implementation.
Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews design discussions and debugging sessions.
Drive architecture design and implementation of systems across object storage compute database and analytics.
Collaborate with product UX and program management to deliver customerfocused solutions.
A day in the life
Start your day grab a coffee (or tea) say hi to your team participate in the daily standup participate in a design review meeting have a oneonone with one of your engineers work on your teams roadmap guide the operational review meeting to monitor the health of the service.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114800/year up to $191800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
