Job Overview:

We are seeking a detailoriented and customerfocused Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee benefits excellent client relationship management skills and the ability to deliver superior service to our clients. In this role you will manage a portfolio of client accounts ensuring the efficient administration of their employee benefits programs and work closely with internal teams to provide seamless support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts providing ongoing support addressing inquiries and ensuring the overall satisfaction of clients.
  • Plan Administration: Oversee the daytoday management of employee benefits programs including health dental vision life disability and other related benefits. Ensure plans are properly implemented maintained and compliant with all regulations.
  • Renewal & Enrollment Support: Assist clients with annual renewals plan changes and open enrollment processes ensuring accurate and timely communication of plan details to employees.
  • Claims Assistance: Serve as a liaison between clients and carriers to resolve claims issues and answer questions about benefits coverage.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise related to employee benefits plans acting as a problemsolver to ensure a positive client experience.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed on relevant regulations including ACA ERISA HIPAA and other federal and state laws related to employee benefits. Ensure clients remain compliant with all applicable requirements.
  • Education & Communication: Provide clients with educational materials and resources to help them understand their benefits offerings and make informed decisions about their plans. Host meetings or webinars as needed.
  • Collaboration with Sales & Support Teams: Work with the sales team to ensure smooth transitions for new clients and the implementation of new employee benefits programs. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clients needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Account Review & Reporting: Regularly review accounts to assess plan effectiveness ensure proper service delivery and identify opportunities for enhancements. Provide regular status updates and reports to clients and internal leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (typically 2 years) in employee benefits account management client services or a related role within the insurance or benefits industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits products and services including health dental vision life disability and voluntary benefits.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex benefits information to clients and employees.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain longterm relationships.
  • Highly organized and detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook) and familiarity with benefits management software or CRM tools.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Active insurance license (as required by state/province regulations) or willingness to obtain.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification or designation (e.g. CEBS GBA or RHU) is a plus.
  • Experience with benefits administration software and client portals.
  • Indepth understanding of ACA ERISA and other healthcare reform legislation.
  • Experience in conducting employee benefits presentations or open enrollment meetings.
