Job Description

The Paralegal assists leaders on the Legal and Compliance team by performing a variety of legal duties including legal research drafting legal documents and maintaining confidential company records. This position requires 100 onsite attendance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Draft proofread and review legal documents including Internal Memos Processes and Procedures.

  • Assist Senior Paralegal and inhouse attorneys with compliance matters

  • Assisting the Consumer Advocate and Fair Lending with collecting and preparing data file for fair lending analysis

  • Assisting the Consumer Response Coordinator Director of Consumer Affairs and Consumer Advocate with the handling of consumer complaints both formal and informal.

  • Assisting the BSA Officer and other compliance team members with the review and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports

  • Assisting other compliance team members with the coordination of regulatory compliance exams and audits as necessary

  • Research analyze and summarize statutory law investor guideline requirements (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac/Ginnie Mae) state regulatory agency requirements judicial decisions and other legal sources of information.

  • Assist with Legal and Compliance trainings and presentations.

  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field or Paralegal certificate and a minimum of three years of previous experience in a legal support environment either in a corporate or law firm setting.
  • Have knowledge of the litigation and subpoena processes.
  • Have a commitment to continuous business improvement.
  • Be able to collaborate with numerous teams and team members to mitigate risk and ensure legal matters are resolved timely.
  • Have effective planning organizational and project management skills.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously effectively.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have excellent written and communication skills with an attention to correct grammar and business writing skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Have critical thinking analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Be selfmotivated and able to work well in a team based environment.
  • This position requires 100 onsite attendance.
