ETS is continually improving how we support Edmontonians transit needs and expectations. To support this we are looking for an innovative and strategicallyminded individual to join our team within ETS as a Technology Business Analyst.
As a Technology Business Analyst within the Technical Services team you will perform highly complex and specialized work encompassing research interpretations analyses development reporting and recommendations about the broad operational and information technology systems supporting ETS needs. You will demonstrate an understanding and awareness of technology impacts while also assisting with operational and strategic planning and developing technology roadmaps. You will explore innovative opportunities and lead these projects to completion using project management best practices.
What will you do
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Evaluate technology solutions using methods and tools including but not limited to requirements feasibility costbenefit risk user and other analyses as appropriate
- Contribute to the design implementation and continuous improvement of ETS technology systems business processes and practices
- Develop internal processes training materials and policies related to technology systems used within ETS
- Research and review emerging technologies and industry trends while understanding their impacts on internal and external business processes and areas
- Research review and interpret data policy and regulations to identify measurable improvements in technology systems business processes and performance
- Maintain a strong business knowledge and apply operational governance and policy lenses to ensure technology systems serve our customers and the Branch
Project Management & Operational Support
- Create business cases and project charters collaborate with stakeholders and produce project deliverables using project management best practices
- Execute assigned projects to the expected scope schedule and budget
- Provide operational support to ETSrelated projects ensuring alignment with ETS goals & objectives applicable standards and guidelines
Strategic Planning & Technology Roadmapping
- Assist with operational and strategic planning including developing and maintaining technology roadmaps
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve any business process or technology systems in alignment with the branch corporate or Councils strategic objectives

- A degree (equivalent or higher) in Computing Science Information Systems Business Technology Management or a related field
- A minimum of four 4 years of progressively responsible experience in Business Analysis and Business Technology Management or Project Management
Assets:
- Accredited Project Management Business Analysis or Change Management certifications
- Experience in a logistics transit paratransit or government environment
Skills required for success:
- Experience bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions by analyzing processes gathering requirements and recommending datadriven improvements
- Experience leading diverse stakeholder teams to achieve strategic and operational outcomes through planning executing and monitoring projects within defined scope time and budget constraints.
- Experience assessing the effectiveness of business programs or policies using operational data and applicable analysis tools and techniques.
- Proven ability to plan prioritize schedule and independently execute working assignments occasionally with tight timelines
- Proven expertise in designing and conducting research collecting and analyzing data and effectively presenting trends or results
- Ability to make wellsupported recommendations write reports and deliver presentations expressing complex ideas and concepts effectively and persuasively to enable effective decisionmakingKnowing how to apply strategic plans policies and performance data to operations
- Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
