Bread and Pastry Cookat Holeman and Finch Public House

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Pastry Cookto join our team of driven and enthusiastic hospitality professionals.Holeman and Finch is a classic gastropubpresentingartisanal twists on classic dishes with a whole animal whole vegetable philosophy. With a robust wine list and original inspired cocktails theres something for everybody at every time of day.The charming space is filled with cozy booths and over 150 pieces of thoughtfully curated art. In every corner the restaurant nods to the vibrant arts scene found in Midtown.Our Pastry Cooks earn $15 $20 an hour based on experience. Join us and put your pastry skills to work!

What is the Job

This will be a dedicated role to the bread and pastry programs at Holeman and Finch. The Pastry Cook will steward the dessert menu as directed by the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef de Cuisine from Sticky Toffee Pudding to Ice Cream and everything in between. This individual will also be responsible for the bread program baking fresh Pan de Mie burger buns Pain au Levain and ParkerhouseRolls to name a few.To be a successful Pastry Cook with us the ideal candidate must be as passionate as they are reliable. They will maintain a working knowledge of all recipes products and procedures to ensure consistency and deliciousness of all menu items. They will assist with inventory organization and overall cleanliness to ensure the quality and freshness of our products.

To be successful you must:

LOVE PASTRY! You love eating it you love making it. You consider pastry a craft to be honed over time with lots of practice.

LOVE LEARNING! You devour books on pastry both old & new. Asking questions and wondering why/how things work comes natural to you and you delight in finding the answers. Youre a pastry nerd!

BE CLEAN & ORGANIZED! Youre obsessed with FiFo recipe binders label makers and a tight walkin.

BE FLEXIBLE! We are open 7 days a week which includes early mornings & most holidays. Having open availability and a cando attitude is key for this candidate.

HAVE THE HUSTLE! You work like you mean it. You manage your time well; with urgency confidence and efficiency.

We ask that you be 18 years of age or older with 2 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Cook. Weekend availability required. A Culinary degree and Food Safety knowledge is preferred.
