Job Title:

School of Business GAME Forum Graduate Assistant

Department:School of BusinessStudent Employment Type:Graduate AssistantResponsibilities:
  • Support the planning and operation of GAME Forum.
    • Update GAME global target database and maintain a variety of Excel spreadsheets containing key conferencerelated data including demographic information and financial information pertaining to conference attendees.
    • Perform extensive internet research on higher education websites to capture and update critical demographic data to Support GAME communication social media and marketing strategies
    • Use Regpack registration software system to review registered attendee data for accuracy and transfer key data to Excel for analysis purposes
    • Correspond via email or telephone in an effort to answer conferencespecific questions and assist student and faculty participants with the online registration process.
    • Review portfolio competition submissions for completeness and coordinate processing of kits with student volunteer team.
    • Assist with the preparation and logistics of all conference print material including (but not limited to) attendee packets name badges and padfolios.
    • Work with student GAME volunteer team leadership to coordinate the logistical needs of the conference.
    • Assist with the process of registration of faculty participants and guest speakers as well as serving as a point of contact at the conference to answer questions and disseminate conference details.
    • Travel to New York City and stay onsite to assist with operation of GAME during the Spring semester.
    • Other GAME related tasks as needed
  • Act as student representative at specified School of Business events
    • Represent and answer questions about GAME with prospective students and families at open house and admissions events
    • As needed represent SB at events such career fairs guest speakers and other oncampus or virtual events.
    • Planned dates are listed below; event schedule will be confirmed at the beginning of each semester
  • Demonstrate professionalism and sound judgement while representing GAME and the School of Business
  • Attend weekly GA team meetings and participate in all GAspecific training sessions
  • Provide supplemental backup support for other School of Business GA functions as assigned (e.g. assist with career fair set up preparing admissions bags/folders etc.
  • Graduate assistants will have a primary supervisor within the Deans Office and will complete projects with other School of Business staff as assigned.
  • Maintain a preset work schedule between normal business hours 8am5pm) with ability to set work schedule around classes at the start of each semester
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate credit hours per semester
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High comfort level working with other students in a mentoring role
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds while exhibiting a positive caring and helpful attitude
  • Ability to work prioritize and maintain focus in a highenergy fastpaced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects to ensure proper alignment with workload communication expectations balance outside of work hours and university/SGA policy
  • Prior experience with or an interest in business finance and/or accounting is preferred but not required
Hours of Position:
  • 20 hours per week; flexible schedule between the hours of 8 am5 pm
  • GAME Forum entire duration of conference
  • Occasional events outside normal business hours
  • GAs will be needed for admissions (or similar) events typically occurring one Saturday or Sunday per month. Dates will be provided at the beginning of each semester
