We re seeking an experienced HVAC/R Service Department Head to lead our HVAC Service Team. This individual will oversee technicians responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of commercial heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge leadership capabilities and customerfacing communication skills. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to senior leadership and interfacing regularly with clients vendors and internal departments.
Oversee daily operations of the HVAC Service Department ensuring technician schedules align with service demands.
Provide technical support and guidance to HVAC technicians.
Hire train and mentor HVAC staff to maintain high standards and meet performance goals.
Review technician work to ensure quality safety and compliance with company standards.
Maintain strong communication with dispatch and vendors to support timely service delivery.
Develop and monitor department budgets objectives and profitability.
Maintain accurate records of labor materials invoices and work orders.
Oversee vehicle fleet maintenance and ensure adequate inventory levels.
Promote service agreements and generate bids for new projects.
Lead largescale installation/startup projects and manage project turnover to clients.
Stay current on OEM training and coordinate ongoing technician development.
5 years of HVAC management or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Indepth knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems codes and schematics.
Proven leadership skills with a focus on productivity and team development.
Strong communication customer service and conflict resolution skills.
Detailoriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
Proficiency with MS Word Excel Outlook and general office software.
Valid driver s license with clean driving record.
Willingness to work nonstandard hours (nights weekends holidays as needed).
Posthigh school education (college trade school or military background).
