Department/Division/Unit: Obstetrics & Gynaecology
The Head of Department (HOD) Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be responsible for coordinating and managing the hospital s Obstetrics and Gynaecology department while ensuring high standards of care are met.
Functionally Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Administratively Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Supervises: Consultant Obstetricians & Gynaecologists
Internal: Obstetricians & Gynaecologists other consultants medical officers directors and nursing staff
External: Clients patients parents and patient relatives
Coordinate and develop the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department.
Supervise and support the team of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists ensuring patient care is optimal and aligned with clinical guidelines.
Manage duty schedules for Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
Foster collaboration between departments.
Participate in recruitment orientation and training of new staff.
Lead department meetings and ensure achievement of departmental targets.
Provide direct care for obstetrics and gynaecology cases and oversee highrisk deliveries.
Conduct ward rounds and specialist outpatient clinics.
Case reporting and documentation.
Education: MBBS or its equivalent
Professional Training: Residency in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a recognized institution
Licensing: Valid medical practice license
Professional Qualification: Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or its equivalent
A minimum of 5 years postresidency experience is required.

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM 6:00 PM
Saturdays: As per department s duty schedule
Call duty and weekend coverage as per the department s rotation.
