Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our Internal Medicine department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis treatment and management of patients with a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions using both medical and endoscopic techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal and hepatotoxicity diseases including IBD GERD hepatitis and gastrointestinal cancers.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper and lower GI endoscopy colonoscopy ERCP and capsule endoscopy.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Provide oncall and emergency services for acute gastroenteritis conditions.
Participate in clinical case discussions morbidity & mortality reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with medical ethics hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the training and development of junior medical staff and residents.
Maintain accurate comprehensive and timely patient records in accordance with the hospital s EMR system.
Qualifications:
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Fellowship in Gastroenterology (e.g. FWACP FMCP or international equivalent).
Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
A minimum of 5 years of postfellowship experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in endoscopy and other gastroenterological procedures.
Strong communication clinical and decisionmaking skills.

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturdays: As per department duty schedule
Call duty and weekend coverage: As per the department s rotation schedule
