Job Description
site engineer manages the daytoday construction activities at a site. They work with clients contractors and other professionals to ensure projects are completed on time within budget and in compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
Planning: Create construction layouts and technical drawings
Manage materials: Organize construction materials and negotiate contracts with vendors
Inspect: Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and identify issues
Ensure compliance: Ensure construction activities comply with safety regulations project plans and budgets
Provide advice: Provide technical advice and guidance to the construction crew
Document: Maintain project documentation including progress reports and site diaries
Identify risks: Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures
Coordinate: Coordinate with project managers architects and subcontractors
Skills and qualifications
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in computer programs like AutoCAD MS Word and Excel
Knowledge of building and health and safety legislation
Ability to solve problems and think on your feet
Strong math skills
Manual dexterity
An eye for detail
Site engineers work in a variety of construction projects including residential and commercial buildings roadways dams railways and ports.
